Penne Pasta with Sausage and Peppers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of Italian sausage. 1/2 hot sausage, 1/2 mild sausage
  • 2 large bell peppers. one green and one red
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 cup romano cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 cup asiago cheese (grated)
  • 8 oz. box of penne pasta,cooked

Method

  1. In a large skillet, cook sausage, peppers,onion and garlic until meat is brown and vegetables are tender.
  2. Drain off fat. Stir in cream, parsley, marjoram, salt and pepper.
  3. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cook and stir over medium heat for eight minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Pour over cooked pasta. Toss mixture with cheese.
  5. Serve at once with more cheese if needed.



During the cooking process, I sometimes add more sausage,cream and cheese. To each is his own.
