I was born and raised in NC. After high school I joined the Army and my MOS was 11B (Infantry, foot soldier, ground pounder). I spent 5 years in before I got out. After the military I still had a chip on my shoulder and spent several more years of drinking, partying, fighting, and much worse. I found myself at a low point and knew things had to change but didn't know how to do it. Then I met my now wife, who oddly enough was my neighbor in high school, and we started dating. As God's intervention would have it, I took a voluntary layoff and moved to TN to be with her. A year later we found ourselves struggling to stay together, and decided we had to make a change or split up. She suggested church, so we went. After going for a few weeks it was then I realized what I had been searching for most of my life... Jesus! I became saved and have tried to devote my life to Christ. I struggle and sometimes fail, but I know that he's always there to pick me back up.

I love Jesus, my wife, kids (15,13, & 10), nature, outdoors, my dogs (blue heeler and a border collie) and cat (orangish tabby), guns (AR15, shotguns, and a few pistols), the occasional playing of a good shooter video game such as COD, and many other things. I don't love or miss drinking alcohol, smoking cigs, or any of the other stupid sinful crap I use to do. I love to hike, but haven't been able to the past year due to recovering from ACL surgery. I also love to ride my mountain bike, but again haven't yet. Part of it is actual recovery and part is fear of injuring it again. I've hiked mainly around the Smokey Mountains to places like Mt. LeConte, but I love that area so it's ok with me. I love to read but with family, and work I find I have so little time to do that. I mainly read Christian related books, but do enjoy a variety of books such as the Hunger Games series.

I got into wet shaving and DE's by pure chance, and now I love it and shaving. I love everything about it and wouldn't consider switching back. I'm a DE fan/user for life.

As I sit back and watch the world around me rapidly change, I know one day the comforts I enjoy will be gone. So I suppose I had better use this time wisely. I'm a semi-prepper, mostly for natural weather type issues. I believe it's better to be somewhat prepared than not at all, so I try to stock the basic necessities.
