About Me
I teach, I read, I shave. I live for good wine, beer, and cheese. I wouldn't want to live anywhere but home on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada.
I am enjoying building up my vintage razor collection. It is satisfying to take the time to make these razors shine again...though I have been know to procrastinate and have a bunch lying around "in process" of restoration.
Now that, as of 2017, I have a bunch of vintage razors, I'm going to try improving my collection by having a few replated and searching for rare razors. I'd also like to start brush restoration--though once I decided this, the ones I always saw in the wild disappeared (Ha! It's always the way).

Razors
- Anything I can find in the wild. I really enjoy hitting shops and markets when I have a chance--I always meet some great people. NEW or Old types would be a good addition to my collection. 1977 x4 Black Handle Flare Tip would be awesome. I'm now on the lookout for ABC Razors with Cases, though in the wild, I don't have high hopes (but I'm not willing to give up the search!).
Brushes
- A good badger brush. My first one was expensive and not great so I went boar. I'd like to try badger again. There is apparently a local company that "hand tools" badger brushes, so I might give that a try. The bases look good online.
Honourable Mentions
PIF! Boom! Zowie! Pow!
- While I haven't been able to enter a PIF yet, I have really enjoyed giving away some of the items I acquired. Sometimes, they came in lots, other times, I couldn't resist buying them. In all cases, it has been a pleasure to see how my PIFs have made others happy.
Charity Auction
- I feel honoured to have been be a part of the 2016 Sue Moore Charity auction. A friend recently lost his mother to breast cancer, and I wasn't sure what to do. At least my small donation is a step in the right direction for supporting folks through these sorts of trials.
